I could not have written this book had it not been for the unfailing support of Peter Occhiogrosso. A superb author and scholar of world religions, Peter provided me with his support both as a writer and as a vast resource of information. Consolidating workshop research that I had gathered for fifteen years while creating an archetypal tool for personal inner work became an undertaking that required a “mind mate,” and Peter was that person for me.
My psychological and physiological state has never been the same. For over six months after that three-day experience, I went through what is often called a Kundalini experience, with the most vivid and powerful archetypal dreams I have ever had. Periodically, further integration continues to take place.
Ultimately every archetype is merely an individual expression of one Universal energy pattern, which is our connection to the Divine.

We all want to know why we are here. What is our mission in life? Those people who know it are easy to spot: their lives shine with meaning. Their perception of their life’s purpose gives them the strength to live through the rough times as well as to enjoy the good.
And when these stresses or negative emotions become entrenched, they can contribute to the development of an illness. It’s not only your mind that wants to know your mission—this knowledge is vitally important to your body and spirit as well.
