Author: [[Megan Jo Wilson]] Full Title: Who the F*ck Am I to Be a Coach?! Category: #books Fear or Faith Carolyn Myss writes, “Any choice made from fear is a violation of the energy of faith,” and I know this to be true in all areas of life – and certainly when we’re becoming the person who commits to building a successful coaching business. When You’re Called to Be a Coach When I look back at my coaching journey over the years, the pattern I see is clear: Every time I lost track of my own fulfillment and my deep knowing that this was my calling, my business would suffer. And every time I would recover my own sense of my big purpose and my faith, the business would begin to grow with ease. “When we open ourselves to desire, we open ourselves to being completely remade. A desire A big and clear vision compels us to make decisions from the person we are becoming rather than the person we are today. This is when change begins to happen. Stand in Your Value as a Coach For years, I have heard new coaches ask some version of the question, “How can I charge $200, $400, $800 just to sit and listen to someone?!” First of all this is a hugely valuable commodity in our busy world today. How often do we sit and listen deeply and without distraction to another person in our busy lives? My executive clients say that our sessions are the best part of their week and it’s because they finally have a chance to sit still, reflect, and be listened to deeply. Putting a Pricetag on Coaching Charge what the solution is worth to your client, not the price that you’re comfortable with. How much is it worth for your client to have their dreams come true? If you can’t answer that question easily, then I want you to consider a real challenge you have right now? Do you want to quit your dead-end job? Find the partner of your dreams? Find a way to work and travel at the same time? Get into the best physical shape of your life? Ask yourself how much would it be worth for you to solve this problem for good? I know for sure it’s more than $25. Because I care more about serving my ideal client than I do serving my doubts and fears. I know that my ideal client was born to have a thriving coaching business, and I would do anything to get her out in the world, and living her purpose, and touching lives – being a part of an army of light that this world so desperately wants and needs. That’s the really great thing about this. Knowing your ideal client will actually help you get over yourself and get into action. You are a warrior, after all, who has been called to serve.
